Bill learned rappelling with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and was a telephone lineman while in college. He became interested in adventure, research and educational tree climbing in 1997. He is a former daily newspaper editor who now works with youth groups and summer camps, and continues to take college courses in biology, botany and chemistry. He is vice president of the Global Organization of Tree Climbers and co-founder of Tree Trek Exploration and has taught climbing techniques from the Rockies to the Panama Canal. He has led eight expeditions to the rain forests and cloud forests of Central America. He also works with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Jeff is an internet technology expert who became interested in recreational tree climbing in 2004, while looking for outdoor activities he could do with his pre-teen son. Jeff is also a talented mechanical engineer who has designed or modified more than a dozen different items of equipment for physically challenged climbers, researchers and adventurers. Climbers in North, Central and South America, Asia and Europe currently use his gear. Jeff is co-founder of Tree Trek, and his family's coffee house, "Steamers Coffee," is a meeting place for climbers in the southeastern United States.He has volunteered with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Georgia chapter of the American Chestnut Association.

Joe has been climbing ropes and taking adventure trips all of his adult life. He is a former newspaper and wire service photographer who also taught college journalism courses. Joe became interested in adenture, research and educational tree climbing in the mid-1990s and currently spends half of each year on the faculty of the Institute for Tropical Ecology and Conservation in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Joe established the Treeclimbers' Coalition, a non-competitive organization to help tree climbing gain credibility and accreditation with outdoor recreation leaders. Joe also volunteers regularly with federal conservation programs.
